Elizabeth Zwiebel is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, Birmingham Bar Association, Family Law Section of Alabama, Birmingham Volunteer Lawyers Program, and has served as a Guardian ad Litem. Elizabeth is also a member of the American Bar Association and has been awarded the AV Rating by Martindale Hubble. Elizabeth has been voted as Nations Top One Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. She has received the Lead Counsel Rating in Family Law and Adoption Law.
Elizabeth, a divorce attorney, opened her firm over 13 years ago after 20 years in the legal field to assist her clients and community in family law cases. Her Birmingham Divorce Firm has helped countless clients achieve positive solutions in their cases.
Lauren Spradling has been practicing domestic and family law since 2015. She is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law. Lauren attended the University of Alabama and graduated with honors in Political Science and History.
While at Alabama, she was a member of Alpha Delta Chi sorority. During her time, she served on the sorority’s Executive Board as treasurer. She is currently the president of the Tau Chapter’s Alumnae Counsel.
Lauren accepts her own cases for representation and also serves as the second chair on cases for Elizabeth Zwiebel. Lauren is our Senior Associate Attorney at The Zwiebel Law Firm. Her practice is focused on divorce, both contested and uncontested, property division, asset valuation and/or dissipation, alimony, child support, child custody, visitation, paternity, dependency, post-divorce modification, contempt, and other family law issues.

Avery Smith is a member of the Alabama State Bar. She works with families and clients dealing with family law domestic relations cases. She works in Jefferson County and Shelby County Courts. Avery is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law and was admitted to practice law in 2024. Avery is a certified domestic relations mediator and strong advocate for her clients in family law.
Avery is an excellent associate attorney and calls Birmingham, Alabama her home.
Avery works along side Elizabeth, Lauren and Christine as part of our ZLF team.

Christine has been practicing domestic and family law since 2022. She graduated with honors from Birmingham School of Law, where she was a member of the school's competitive trial team. Prior to becoming an attorney, Christine enjoyed a "first career" as a professor and criminologist, heading both the Social Sciences Division and Department of Criminal Justice at Judson College for Women. She completed both undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Alabama-Birmingham, from where she also graduated with honors. Christine grew up in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, having initially moved there from Virginia at the age of ten. She is a wife and mother of four: two sons and two daughters. Her joys in life include advocating for her clients, being a lifelong learner, reading non-fiction, listening to ecclectic playlists of music, watching movies, hiking with her family, and attending her children's extracurricular events - she's a die-hard soccer and dance mom. Christine's practice focuses on divorce, both contested and uncontested; modifications (e.g., child custody, child support, alimony); establishing paternity; child dependency; domestic contempt; protection from abuse; and other family law issues.
Sandy Miller has been a Zwiebel Law team member for many years. She began working with Zwiebel Law in 2013 and returned in 2021 after a career working with other law firms. She found that while working with other family law firms, Zwiebel Law was really her home.
Sandy is compassionate about her job and detail-oriented. She loves to assist clients with their needs in the most understanding way.
Sandy has years of experience working with law firms and especially in the area of family law.
Sandy understands the emotional toll a family law case can have in a client's life. She always has an open mind when assisting clients with their family law issues.
